"Bookmark" type vs. "Saved" verb

Is a bookmark really an object or is it simply the artifact of the activity of saving something?

While the "saved" verb is definitely useful, it cannot replace the "bookmark" object type because Ma.gnolia and Del.icio.us both publish bookmarks as an object rather than an activity and this would violate the design goal of requiring object publishers only to add verb/object-type to their existing feeds.
